Dr. Dan Wesson, UFCST faculty member and Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics, won the Young Investigator Award for Research in Olfaction at the AChemS XLI Conference.
AChemS, the Association for Chemoreception Sciences, holds an annual meeting for chemoreception scientists. This year’s meeting took place on April 14-17 in Bonita Springs, Florida.
The Young Investigator Award for Research in Olfaction is given annually to an outstanding junior scientist who is an emerging leader in the field of olfaction. The research record provides evidence of excellence and contributions that have had or are likely to have a major impact on research in the field of olfaction. The award is $2,000 and was given during the Welcome/Awards Ceremony on opening night.
Dr. Wesson also spoke at the Presidential Symposium: Chemoreception from Receptors to Behaviors.
