The University of Florida Center for Smell and Taste is providing travel awards for UF students (both undergraduate and graduate) or postdoctoral fellows who are conducting research in UFCST member labs and who are presenting their chemosensory-related research at a national or international meeting in the 2018 calendar year.
These awards will support reasonable meeting expenses including registration, hotel accommodations, airfare, etc. The UFCST will make up to five awards, with a minimum of $500 per award (these may be larger depending on the number of awards made) and maximum of $1000 per award.
Funds will be distributed as reimbursements of incurred expenses. Receipts will be required for reimbursement.
Conferences must take place in 2018. You may apply for a travel award for a conference occurring later in the year and for which abstract and registration deadlines have not yet passed. However, the awardee must still meet all eligibility requirements (including submission of the relevant abstract) before disbursement of the award. Support for a meeting that has already occurred in 2018 is also possible.

If no abstract is yet available, please indicate in the Meeting Description text box. The application deadline is 5 pm on Monday, April 2, 2018. Applications will be judged by an ad hoc committee of UFCST faculty and awards announced in April.
Eligibility Criteria
• Applicant must be a UF student (undergraduate or graduate) or postdoctoral trainee in a UFCST member laboratory
• Applicant must be presenting a research poster or platform talk at a national or international scientific conference
• The research must be relevant to the mission of the UFCST and related to the chemical senses
• The conference must take place in the 2018 calendar year
